How to Get the Most Out of Your Virtual Care Visits

Healthcare should be simple, convenient, and supportive of your everyday life, not something that adds stress or uncertainty. That’s why Virtual Care is one of the most valued perks of being part of the Impact Health Sharing community.

Impact’s Virtual Care includes unlimited 24/7 Telehealth visits for non-emergency medical needs and up to three Short-Term Teletherapy visits per month, per topic, all available starting day one of membership at no extra cost.

Whether you’re an active member or exploring Impact as an alternative to health insurance, here’s how to use Virtual Care to its fullest.

Where to Access Virtual Care

Current members:
Getting started is easy—simply log into your Member Center and choose My Virtual Care to request a visit. You can also use the phone number on your Member ID Card to connect directly with a licensed Virtual Care provider.

Prospective members:
Virtual Care is included with membership at no additional charge, and it’s available immediately once your membership begins. That means from day one, you and your family have access to experienced clinicians without worrying about extra fees.

1. Prepare Before Your Visit

Just like an in-person appointment, your virtual visit is more effective when you come prepared:

Gather your information:

  • List your symptoms
  • Note any allergies or medications you’re taking
  • Keep a log of recent changes in your health

Inputting a brief medical history ahead of time allows for quicker access when you need it most and helps your clinician provide faster, more personalized care.

2. Know What Virtual Care Can Help With

Impact’s Virtual Care is designed for non-emergency medical needs. Typical situations where telehealth really shines include:

  • Colds, coughs, or flu-like symptoms
  • Allergies or asthma flare-ups
  • Rashes, minor skin issues, or insect bites
  • Digestive concerns like nausea or acid reflux
  • Eye irritation or pink eye
  • Minor joint or muscle pain
  • Urinary or yeast infections

A licensed clinician can also prescribe medication when clinically appropriate, sending it straight to the pharmacy you choose—all from your mobile device or computer.

3. Use Teletherapy the Right Way

Impact members get up to three Short-Term Teletherapy sessions per month, per topic at no extra cost, whether you’re navigating stress, anxiety, grief, relationship challenges, or parenting concerns. These are solution-focused visits with licensed clinicians and are best used for short-term goals, not long-term therapy.

Tip: Before scheduling, think through what one main concern you want to address. This helps you get the most out of your sessions.

4. Make Your Visit Efficient

Before the appointment:

  • Complete any pre-visit questionnaires
  • Choose your preferred pharmacy
  • Find a quiet, private spot with a good internet or phone connection

During the visit:

  • Be clear and specific about your symptoms
  • Ask about next steps, including prescriptions or follow-ups

After the visit:

  • Follow provider instructions promptly
  • If prescribed medication, check your Impact member card for Rx savings options, including $0 generics when priced under $10.

5. Virtual Care Works With Your Whole Health Picture

Telehealth and teletherapy are not replacements for in-person care, but they do make healthcare more accessible. Virtual Care can act as a first step when issues arise or as a convenient option for follow-ups and everyday concerns. When in-person evaluation is needed, your provider will guide you.

And the best part? With Impact, these virtual visits don’t cost you extra provider fees at the time of service.

Why This Matters

In the middle of a busy week, during evenings or weekends, or even when you’re traveling, Virtual Care brings quality healthcare to you, wherever you are.

For members already using it, telehealth has become a reliable, fast way to address medical needs without long waits. For prospective members, it’s a powerful example of how Impact is making care simpler, smarter, and more convenient.
