Recently, my wife had to go to the hospital for about a two-hour visit. When we received the bill, it was over $10,000—$10,517 to be exact.

Because Impact Health Sharing is a nonprofit, they used reference-based repricing to negotiate the bill. They reduced it by more than $8,500, and we only had to pay about $1,500.
