Lauren McQueen's Hospital Bill Dropped From $1,500 to $233 With Impact Health Sharing

Lauren McQueen had been self-employed with no healthcare for years before joining Impact Health Sharing. Fifteen months into her membership, she tore her meniscus and put her Impact member card to the test. The hospital wasn't familiar with Impact Health Sharing at first — but one call to the number on the back of her member card changed everything. Impact Health Sharing negotiated her bill from just under $1,500 down to $233. That's the difference a community-based health sharing program makes.

Hi, my name is Lauren McQueen, and I'm a huge advocate for Impact Health Sharing.

I've been an Impact member for about 15 months. Before joining Impact, I was self-employed and didn't have any type of healthcare coverage.

A few months ago, I actually had to use my Impact member card after tearing my meniscus. I went to the nearest hospital and had a really great experience.

At first, they weren't familiar with Impact Health Sharing, so I asked them to call the number on the back of my member card. Before they made that call, they assumed it was just another health sharing organization and gave me a bill showing the cash-pay discount.

My original bill was just under $1,500. Even with the cash-pay discount, it was still more than $900.

I'm so grateful they called Impact. They billed Impact directly, and Impact negotiated my bill down from just under $1,500 to only $233.

That's all I was responsible for.

It's been such a blessing for me and for so many other people we've been able to help.
