- DEFINITIONS. In addition to the defined terms contained elsewhere in this agreement, the following capitalized terms shall have the indicated meanings:
- “Financial Institution” means the financial institution where the Member’s Sharing Account is held. The Financial Institution will be designated by Sharable in its sole discretion, and is subject to change from time to time, but Sharable and/or Impact will notify you if it changes. Currently the Financial Institution is America’s Christian Credit Union based in Glendora, California (americaschristiancu.com).
- “FBO Account” is a depository bank account held at the Financial Institution for the benefit of all members of Impact participating in the health sharing program. The FBO Account is a single bank account that contains the shared funds of all Impact members, including those funds allocated to your Account.
- “Account” or “Virtual Sharing Account” means your Sharable account, which is a virtual sub-ledger account representing your portion of the total sharing funds of all Impact members that may be used for qualifying medical expenses. All funds reflected in your Account are held in the FBO Account.
- “Monthly Share Amount” means your required monthly contribution to the FBO Account, as determined by Impact and communicated to you through the Sharable Platform.
- “Total Share Amount Due” will include the current Monthly Share Amount, past due amounts, related service fees and any optional amounts that you designate from time to time.
- ACCESSING YOUR ACCOUNT
- Identification Required to Activate Your Sharable Account. To help the government fight the funding of terrorism and money laundering activities, Federal Law requires all financial institutions (or their Authorized Agents) to obtain, verify and record information that identifies each person who activates an account. When activating your account, we will use your name, address, date of birth, and other information that will allow us to identify you.
- Your Account Is Protected. Sharable Accounts held at America’s Christian Credit Union are Federally insured against failure of the financial institution by the National Credit Union Administration up to $250,000 per account. Additional savings protection up to $200,000 per account is provided by American Share Insurance (www.americanshare.com) for qualifying accounts.
- Sharable Platform. The Sharable Platform gives you access to your Account for use in conjunction with your Impact membership and associated heath sharing activities. The Sharable Platform allows you to view your available funds, transaction history, and any outstanding contribution obligations. Through the Sharable Platform you may initiate fund transfers from your external bank account into the FBO Account (resulting in a corresponding credit to your Account), as well as authorize transfers to or from other Impact members. Your Account will also show you funds shared (transferred) from your Account to the Account of fellow Impact Members for payment to their health care providers.
- When you sign up for the Sharable Platform, you will choose a user name and password or obtain similar account credentials from Impact or from Sharable. You agree to keep such credentials confidential and not give these credentials to anyone else or allow anyone else to use or access the Sharable Platform.
- Member Requirements. The Sharable Platform is made available by Sharable for registered members of Impact. In addition, by opening and activating your Sharable account, you will be deemed an account holder at the Financial Institution and a beneficiary of the FBO Account for as long as you are a Impact member. Accordingly, you may be required to agree to separate terms and conditions applicable to the Financial Institution’s account holders. You also understand that the Financial Institution may send you notices, disclosures, and other materials from time to time, as may be required or permitted by any laws or regulations to which the Financial Institution is subject.
- Transferring Funds. The Sharable Platform allows you to initiate and track several different kinds of transactions, including but not limited to the following:
- Transfers from External Bank. This authorizes a transfer from your personal bank account held at any bank to the FBO Account. You will be required to enter the correct routing number and account number for your external bank account during setup. Upon a successful transfer your Account will be credited with the amount you contributed to the FBO Account.
- Total Monthly Share Amount. Members will use the Sharable Platform to transfer their Total Share Amount Due from their External Bank to their Account. Members may manually transfer the Total Share Amount Due each month or configure the Sharable Platform to make recurring transfers for the Total Share Amount Due on their behalf.
- Member-to-Member Transfers. The Sharable Platform enables Members to initiate or automate member-to-member transfers for the purpose of medical sharing. Through a member-to-member transfer you authorize a transfer from your Account to another Impact member’s Sharable account. Your Account will be debited, and the other member’s account will be credited in the amount of the transfer.
- Payments to Medical Providers. If you have an eligible medical bill, other members will be identified by Sharable to transfer funds to your Account. Once the Approved Shared Amount is collected in your Account, payment to your doctor or other medical provider will be made on your behalf. The Approved Shared Amount will be deducted from your Account, and the funds will be used solely to pay the medical provider using the methods in place at the time of payment.
- EFT Authorization. You hereby authorize Sharable to initiate monthly withdrawals from your external bank account for the Total Share Amount Due at the time that the withdrawal is initiated. This authority will remain in full force and effect until (a) you terminate this authority through the Sharable Platform, (b) we receive notice from Impact that you have terminated this authority, or (c) you cancel your Account. The “Electronic Funds Transfer Agreement” below will apply to these transfers.
- You understand and agree that Sharable only provides a technology platform, information, management tools, and customer support services for your Account on behalf of Impact but is not involved in processing any payments or executing any fund transfers, other than to communicate your payment instructions to the Financial Institution. All payment transactions and inter-account fund transfers are processed by the Financial Institution or its service providers, except in the case of member-to-member transfers. Sharable will not be held liable for any errors involving payment transactions, funds transfers, or availability of funds caused by other parties. YOU EXPRESSLY ACKNOWLEDGE AND AGREE THAT SHARABLE WILL HAVE NO LIABILITY WHATSOEVER FOR TRANSACTIONS AND TRANSFERS YOU REQUEST OR INITIATE OR INFORMATION PROVIDED BY YOU OR ANY THIRD PARTY (INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION IMPACT), UNLESS THE LOSS WAS DIRECTLY CAUSED BY SHARABLE’S ERROR. WITHOUT LIMITING THE FOREGOING, AND NOTWITHSTANDING ANY OTHER PROVISION OF THESE TERMS, SHARABLE WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY TRANSACTION OR PROCESSING ERRORS CAUSED BY OTHER PARTIES, OR ANY RESULTING FEES, PENALTIES, OR COSTS, INCLUDING THOSE ISSUES THAT MAY ARISE FROM INACCURATE ACCOUNT INFORMATION, EXCEPT FOR ERRORS DIRECTLY CAUSED BY SHARABLE.
- America’s Christian Credit Union Agreement. America’s Christian Credit Union (ACCU) has agreed to serve as the custodian of all Member funds and accounts required for participating in Impact Health Sharing. By accepting the terms and conditions of this agreement, you are opening a Virtual Sharing Account. Funds in your Sharable Account and the accounts of others are physically held at America’s Christian Credit Union in an FBO Custodial Account “For the Benefit of Impact Health Sharing Members.”
You agree that:- Impact Health Sharing or its authorized service provider is authorized to initiate requests and process payment transfers to medical service providers and health care institutions on your behalf.
- Impact Health Sharing or its authorized service provider is authorized to deposit funds into and initiate transfers from your Sharable Account per the Impact Health Sharing Guidelines.

- You agree to permit Impact Health Sharing or its authorized service provider to conduct health care sharing activities, generate electronic requests, initiate transactions, accept transactions and process payments for your benefit and per the Impact Health Sharing Guidelines.
- Access to and use of your Sharable Account may be revoked in the event you withdraw from the Impact Health Sharing program or your membership is terminated by Impact Health Sharing.
- In the event ACCU resigns or no longer serves as the custodial agent for your Sharable Account, a successor custodial agent will be appointed by ACCU and you acknowledge and consent to the movement of funds to another Financial Institution.
- In the event that Sharable changes the FBO account structure, or the Virtual Sharing Account structure, or moves the FBO account to a different or additional Financial Institution, such as would be the case if ACCU resigns or no longer serves as the custodial agent for your Sharable Account, you agree that the entire balance of your Sharable Account may be transferred to the new FBO account structure or Financial Institution to facilitate sharing consistent with the terms of this Agreement. You also acknowledge that you may need to sign new disclosures that are specific to the new Financial Institution in order to remain a member of Impact.
- You acknowledge that ACCU is not responsible for transactions and transfers authorized by Impact Health Sharing or implemented by its authorized Service Provider, when transferring funds from your Sharable Account under the Impact Health Sharing program.
