You're in Charge of Your Health Care

Impact Health Sharing

With the state of the world in current chaos and at the mercy of our government, it’s empowering to know what we do have control of and in this case, it’s our health care.

Yes, you are in charge of your health and ultimately responsible for maintaining a healthy immune system, but when you join Impact you are also taking back control of your healthcare and the finances that go along with it.

If you’ve had insurance for a long time, you may be overwhelmed trying to wrap your head around how healthcare sharing works. But making the switch doesn’t have to be scary or confusing.

If you are ready to take control of where your healthcare dollars go, take some time to educate yourself on the differences between the options you have. Switching only for the cost savings might leave you upset later on, when it doesn’t work exactly like insurance.

For this reason, we’re here to help and to explain the positive things that you won’t find in a traditional insurance option.

In the early 80s, Americans began to turn to Healthcare Sharing Organizations as an alternative to the high costs of insurance. Today, it has grown into an industry that shares approximately $3 billion a year. Health care sharing isn’t new—for the past four decades, it has grown in popularity because it has been a viable solution for millions of families.

When we think of healthcare, community wouldn’t be the first thing that comes to mind. But community is what Impact Health Sharing offers. Our community was built because people have come together with a shared mission and belief.

If you haven’t experienced this kind of community, then healthcare sharing might bring something new to your life that you will not only embrace, but impact others with. It’s the “love thy neighbor” principle.

“We may have all come on different ships, but we're in the same boat now.

– Martin Luther King, Jr.

Impact Health Sharing

Let’s briefly go over what healthcare sharing has to offer starting with the questions we get asked most often.

Q: Do I have to sign a year-long contract?

A: No. There is no contract. You can join and cancel anytime.

Q: Do I need to wait for Open Enrollment?

A: No. Since Healthcare Sharing is not insurance, there is no open enrollment period. This means that if you lose your job and the insurance that comes with it, you can apply for Impact online and get started soon after.

Q: Do I have to speak to a salesperson to get a quote?

A: No. Pricing is available on our website. Pay monthly for your membership with prices starting at just $73 for singles and $378 for families.

Q: Do I have to pay for my doctor visits and surgeries upfront?

A: No. Show the provider your Impact Member ID card. If you have used health insurance in the past, using Impact Health Sharing won't feel a whole lot different. Present your Impact Member ID card and ask the provider to bill Impact using the information on the back of your member card. All of the information that their billing specialist will need is on the card.

Q: I seem to get sick a lot with colds, the flu, sinus infections; how much would it cost me?

A: Impact offers 24/7 virtual doctor visits at no additional cost. These board-certified doctors can prescribe medication and you can be on the road to recovery the same day, even while traveling!

Q: I am due for an annual screening, like a mammogram and a colonoscopy, do I have to pay for that myself?

A: Impact follows the American Cancer Society recommendations when it comes to sharing in Preventative Care and will Share the following bills per the Member Guidelines:

  • Women: Pap test - one every three years from 21-65 yrs., Mammogram – Age 45-54 yearly, every two years starting at age 55.
  • Men: PSA test - yearly, starting at age 45.
  • All: Colonoscopy - one every 10 years starting at age 50 or one every five years for members at high risk.

Healthcare Sharing may not always be the best option for every family’s needs, but it is helping millions of people. The smartest thing you could do right now is to create a checklist of your wants and needs, or even expectations.

One more thing as we wrap this up. Maybe you haven’t cared about how your medical needs were paid for and what else your money could be paying for. But why not have peace of mind in knowing that even your health care dollars are impacting another person or many others in a positive way. Your health care dollars, for instance, can help to bring a new life into the world, or to keep another from passing on. Now that’s a big deal!

Each month when you see your Monthly Share, you can smile knowing that your contribution isn’t helping someone buy a bigger office or renovate his house, but helping save a life.
