Welcoming a new baby is an exciting—and often expensive—milestone for growing families. If you are considering healthcare sharing, the maternity sharing perks of Impact Health Sharing can make a big difference.
Below, we explain how Impact approaches prenatal care, OB/GYN visits, childbirth, and postpartum care so you know what to expect when it’s time to grow your family.

When your maternity care is eligible, the Impact community comes together to share a wide range of related costs, including:
Because maternity care is typically billed as a single global maternity bill (including prenatal, delivery, postpartum together), Impact expects one comprehensive bill per pregnancy. If you begin care with a midwife and later transfer to a physician—or vice versa—sharing still applies to the one provider who submits the global bill.
Note: If you begin maternity care with a midwife who submits a bill, and you later switch to an OBGYN, a new bill cannot be submitted for sharing. Only one global bill per maternity event is eligible.
One advantage of Impact is freedom of provider choice: you aren’t limited to a network. If you already have an OB/GYN or prefer a licensed midwife or birthing center, you can keep those choices.
If you opt for a midwife or a birthing center, just be sure the provider is properly licensed, certified, or registered in the state of delivery and that credentials (or license documentation) are submitted with the bills. Without that, any maternity-related expenses may not be eligible for sharing.
If for some reason your pregnancy doesn’t meet the waiting-period requirement—for example, you enroll during pregnancy or your EDD is within 10 months of enrollment—then maternity bills won’t be shareable.
That said, bills may still be eligible for repricing depending on your provider’s discretion, and there are cases (like miscarriage care) where certain medical expenses may still be eligible for sharing.
We understand you have choices when it comes to the care of you and your expanding family. Here are some of the reasons choosing Impact Health Sharing at this time might be right for you:
